In the entire history of the human race, people have never felt more secluded and alone. There has never been so much need within communities and families in impoverished regions. While our online interactions increase, our human to human interactions are decreasing at an alarming rate. Operation Impact & Global Care Colombia want to flip the script and bring people together with the common thread of connection and radical servitude in the great city of Medellin, Colombia and surrounding regions. It’s about joining a movement of passionate and determined givers who are on a mission to make the world a more generous place, one radical act at a time.
For the last 2 years Global Care Colombia has been resourcing families in Medellin, Colombia. What started with a mission to feed and resource 500 Venezuelan Refuge families, has now become 10,000 families in multiple communities in Medellin, and surrounding areas. “The need is great, the only food that some families receive are the fruit and vegetable packs and other food basics that we distribute weekly” say Global Care Leaders Nathan & Mary Ironside, “In collaboration with Operation Impact, our goal is to radically serve as many families as possible this Christmas, with food, clothes, shoes, diapers, basic necessities and for many children the only present they will receive this Christmas”.
The city that is the coffee and fashion capital of South America, has also become famous for many negative reasons, including the real location of the hit TV show “Narcos” and the infamous cartel of Pablo Escobar. Medellin is now a thriving international city, meanwhile many are suffering due to the impact of the “COVID” pandemic, and the radical economic changes of 2020.
